I want to make my bf a pouch for his new phone. It’s one of those that are like an iphone but it’s an LG. anyway, how do I know how many to cast on to get it the size I want without knitting and then reknitting?
You have to find out how many sts/inch you have, then multiply that times how many inches wide you want it. So you’ll have to CO at least 20 to see what your gauge is.
as many as you need!
that will depend on Yarn,
(sock yarn? or something finer? or sports yarn? (or something larger?
needles, (are you knitting flat? with 1 seam (or 2?) or are you knitting in the round… )
and your knitting
(do you knit loose or tight?)
remember, if you don’t know where you are going, any road will take you there!
What I would do is find out how many stitches you need to span the phone then add a few on each side and do it in ribbing.
beginer trying to help,
