Whooo! I just love this book and these patterns but… You are very right to be worried about the size issue! I actually made the Hervor cap (p39) and it swallowed my whole head! I also looked a bit like the Sweedish Chef from the muppet show! Having said that, it was the warmest cap that I’ve ever worn and it was perfect for sub-zero temps in the Colorado mtns. Having played around with some of the other patterns I have found that it’s all HUGE! :?? Maybe people from Sweeden are just big people? Those models are probably closer to 6’ if you ask me!!!
What about using the Rafn pattern (pg 46/47) and stick in the other calbe pattern? This is such a pretty jacket/sweater that I have eyed a few times! And as usual, Ingrid is right! You could use the cable pattern in another sweater and just play with your gauge!
In case you haven’t tried “the new method”… it took me a few disasterous trys but I finally “got it” and it’s really cool once you understand the concept. It does make a difference when you start cables in the middle - the background doesn’t pull! Well, that’s kinda the point but it does work!
Good luck and keep us posted!

PS - There are 4 of those “tabs” in the front and four in the back!
