How do you turn a mitered corner?

I am knitting a mitered corner for the first time in the edging of a shawl. In the instructions it says to turn the knitting? Does anyone know how to do this?

Can you post a link to the pattern or more of the instructions?

Are you ‘turning’ as in doing a short row (working to corner and back) or specifically a mitered corner (working multiple incs around the point of the corner)?

I know how to do short row knitting, I’m just not sure if I’m supposed to.

Yes, this is short row knitting. Everytime it says turn, you work back over the sts you just did.
