Hi,
I’m working on a pattern I got from the Joannes website for a cuddly bunny. Basically its a little blanket with the head of a bunny. I have everything finished except the head and have run into a serious problem!
The pattern says *Purl 1, slip 1 with yarn in back, repeat from *. It’s supposed to be make the head using double knitting so that you can stuff it. Anyway I started but everything is so tight now and the stiches seem all messed up. Any advice.
I’m so close to the end of the project and am utterly confused!!
It looks like you’d purl one with the yarn in front, put the yarn to the back and then slip the stitch purlwise. Bring the yarn to the front again for the next purl stitch.
I imagine on the next row you’ll knit the stitches you slipped and slip the ones you purled on the previous row.
Make sure that you slip the stitches as if you are going to purl so you don’t twist them and make them tight.
You will have the yarn strand carry across the back, so it will look different than ‘normal’ knitting.
Hi I too am having huge trouble making sense of this pattern. Can you help Please ?
:knitting:
Is your trouble at the same place as the earlier post, the head? Just make sure you have the 28 sts called for in the pattern, or some even number of sts. Then each row is p1, yarn to the back,sl 1 all the way across. As Ingrid says, on the next row you’ll be working the slipped sts from the previous row and slipping the purled sts.
You are creating a kind of pocket that can be stuffed for the head.
