How do you knit on the right and wrong side?

I am doing a pattern on circular needles and it says
1st row (right side): P2,*k1, p1, k1, p2; rep from * to end.
2nd row: K2, *p3, k2; rep from * to end.
Rep these 2 rows

what does this mean??? please help! i’m stuck!

Does this mean I have to turn my work around and knit with my left hand?

No, the pattern is just giving you information that Row 1 and all odd number rows will be the right side. Later it may tell you to do something “ending with a WS row” which means you’ll do the WS and be ready to do a different stitch or shaping with the next row, which will be the RS row. You knit or purl the sts the same way, no matter what.

Are you knitting in the round with the circs? This pattern is written as rows, so if you’re not knitting flat (turning and working back and forth) you might need to do row 2 a little differently.

If you are knitting flat you will have to turn your work to knit the other side, but you still knit the same way you are now.
