How do you find the center pull of a Lion Brand Pound of Love skein???

You know how there is usually the outside strand stuck in the ball? I usually find the good knitting strand at the other end. I often have to pull out a big chunk though on any skein. Annoying, but what can you do? :shrug:
[color=darkblue]Jan,
I just tried what you said and at ‘first’ I thought it wasn’t going to work as I pulled and pulled and nothing would move. I got a little more assertive and like you said a good sized chuck came out and the end was in that chunk.
NOW I KNOW! Yeha.
Thanks so much.
Your pay will be not getting this DURN snow we are getting. Could get 18 inches by tomorrow night. I want SPRING.
Thanks,

I’ve heard that Lion Brand Pound of Love comes out in clumps a a lot and tends to get knotted, so just be careful! I seem to be the queen of knotting yarn. :teehee:
I want spring too. It’s cold and raining here, and my neighbor’s back yard looks like a swimming pool. When will the rain stop.!
:sun:
Sarah,
My husband and I used my yarn winder to wind up a skein of the Pound of Love because I couldn’t find the center pull and was trying to use it with the outside strand and it was impossible to use. We didn’t run into any clumps when winding it but it sure took a long time.
We woke up to 7 inches of heavy, heavy snow.
Soon it will be summer.
Susie
Good idea rolling it into a ball. I could just imagine rolling my Caron One Pound into a ball, using a ball winder or not. :wall:
While you have heavy snow, over here in NJ we have very heavy rain! School was canceled because of flooding. Of course that means more knitting, even though I do feel slightly woozy. :help:
Actually Sarah I had to roll it into five balls. My husband helped me by pulling it off the skein so it would be loose for me to wind.
Yuck on the rain too. I took a video of our snow and put it up on youtube but it hasn’t processed yet.
Why are you woozy?
Susie
Glad you found the end. Those chunks are annoying, but not much you can do. I don’t have a ball winder so I wind by hand…
BTW…I live in southern CA so no snow here. Ever. :teehee:
Jan,
You don’t have a winder? How come? Nosey aren’t I?
Joann’s on line has a 50% off coupon code APRA750
Maybe you just don’t want one.
Susie
I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. Plus money is tight right now. I am mostly using stash and knitting for charity. Soon though!
Jan,
You will LOVE a yarn winder. They are a fun toy.

Susie
I have a bad cold and a sore throat, but I woke up with a slight headache. I haven’t been eating much today either because everything tastes gross, so I think my headache is also partly because of that.
[color=darkblue]Sarah,
I hope you get to feeling better real soon.
