How do you do a garter stitch

I am new at knitting and have so far only made a scarf, which I am pretty excited about. I would like to try a mini booga bag, but I don’t know what a garter stitch is. Could some one give me a helping hand? :rollseyes: :??

garter stitch is what you get when you knit every row. :thumbsup:

Yea, Garter stitch is knit every row, stockinette stitch is knit one row purl the other, and so on. These are the basic fabrics of knitting.

Unless you are knitting in the round… then knitting every row is stockinette, and knitting one row and purling the next gives you garter.
