I just figured out how to make curlicues. But how do I attach it to the top of a hat? Tie a few square knots? I heard those come undone really easily, though…
Are there other cute things to add to the top of a hat? Not pompoms, please.
Isn’t there something like a curlicue, but more of a ruffley type of thing?
i just had a long string that i wove into the hat when i did it. kinda like weaving in an end (couple of small knots to anchor too.)
if you want it more ruffly you could knit a few rows even and THEN do your increases like you are doing the curliques. when you bind off it will ruffle them.
I just tried the reverse. What a disaster, hehehe. I knit into the front and back the first row, then purled one row and bound off knitwise. Looked like cr*p, lol! I’m ripping it now.
I wonder if I imagined seeing this somewhere! Hopefully someone else will respond and save my boring baby hat!

Did you use a square knot?
sorry didn’t notice your question…i just looped a knot in while i was weaving the yarn in. i haven’t heard any rumors that the curliques came out
