1st of all, here’s a link to the pattern that I am working on and will refer to…
http://www.bernat.com/pattern.php?PID=230
So here is the part of the pattern I am at. …In fact, this is the part that I am STUCK at:
Next row: (K2tog) 5 times. 5 sts. Break yarn leaving a long end.
Thread through rem sts. Draw up tightly and fasten securely.
Sew thumb seam.
With RS of Mitt facing, join yarn to rem sts. Pick up and knit 2 sts under thumb. Knit to end of row.
Next row: Knit, knitting tog the 2 sts picked up under thumb. 36 sts.
Knit 16 rows even.
Specifically; How do I…
With RS of Mitt facing, join yarn to rem sts. Pick up and knit 2 sts under thumb.
? …especially considering that I JUST broke my “working” yarn?!?
I just CAN NOT seem to get it! Can some one help me with this? Maybe by breaking it down AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE? This part is making me CRAZY! I just wanna learn it ASAP, so I can get past it ASAP, and get on with the rest of it (which I now CLEARLY understand!) to finish it! Especially as I’d like to make MANY of them so that I can practice all the parts I’ve JUST learned, so I can perfect them!
Also, another quick tidbit… This pattern has RS and WS on certain rows <ex: Shape Thumb. 1st Row (RS)> and other parts it say a certain side should face a certain way. I thought the RS was just the side that looked best…
How can a specific row be a specific side? When it says “with RS facing…” How do I know which side that is? And what should it be facing? toward me, away from me?
ALL of my appreciation,
Mindy
