How do I "join" 100% mercerised cotton?

I have started vest in Stitch n Bitch Nation, “Accidentally on Purpose” Drop Stitch vest. This is my first time using 100% mercerised cotton yarn and I am unsure as to how to “connect” or “join” yarn. (I am almost done w/first ball & need to start thinking about connecting second) :??

Your help will be much appreciated !!!

I love the felted join because it is easy, fast, and flawless, you don’t have to weave in the ends, and it’s invisible once knitted in.

If you are using a fibre that won’t felt, try this link - scroll down a little bit:

Unfortunately, cotton doesn’t felt so the state-of-the-art felted join isn’t an option.

Look for the Russian Join on the videos or at http://www.geocities.com/mama_bear_007/Russian_Join.html
It’s neat, secure and precise – great for cotton. If you can do a join at the seam end of a row, so much the better; any irregularity gets hidden in the seam. And I know this is Knitting Blasphemy, but there is much to be said for a tiny, tight knot (again, hidden in a seam) with the ends woven in. I do it all the time with cotton and haven’t been struck by lightning yet.
