to decrease in sc you insert the hook into the first stitch, yo pull thru just the stitch, insert into the next st, yo, pull through just the stitch, then yo, and pull through all three loop. and poof it’s a decreased sc.
So I connect the next sc as one
well what you are doing is actually just the bottom half of both of the next 2 stitches and then finishing them off as if they were just one.
So let’s say that you sc in the next 8 sts, then on the next two stitches you would insert into the stitch, yo and pull through just the stitch, then insert into the next sc and then yo and pull through just the stitch, then you finish it just like a sc, except there will be three loops on the hook instead of the normal two. So you would yo and pull through all three loops.
You’ll notice that you’ll only have one chain (the way it appears along the top edge of the work) where there used to be two.
OR… if ya wanna do the time honored short cut way… just skip one of the stitches and then sc into the next st. Still the same outcome. Just looks a little different.
