How do i decrease a 1x1 rib beanie?

hello,
this is my first time making a beanie. i’m hoping to finish it before xmas. it is a 1x1 rib (knit 1, purl 1) with 70 sts casted on. i am wondering if there is a way to finish the beanie by decreasing it gradually so it looks a little more professional/nicer than just simply doing 1x1 all the way and then sewing it together.
