How can I knit this Scribble Scarf?

I just took up knitting over this Christmas holiday. So, I am truly a beginner. However, in a short time, I’ve managed to experiment and finish with several projects. I found a beautiful scarf patern online but I don’t know how I can start knitting this scarf.

Scribble Scarf

  1. The rows are super long with 100 stitches. What type of needle do I need for this?
  2. How do I change between the two types of yarn. Do I cut the Labrador after one row?

I really need help and I really want to make this scarf. Thank you all in advance.

Your best bet for this type of thing is to use a circular needle and knit as it you were using straights. You might be able to fit the stitches on long straights, but I think they’d be crowded.

Sometimes you can carry different yarns up the side when you make stripes, but in this case I think you’d be best to cut the contrasting yarn each time. The work is too open to hide any carrying.
