When I asked my MIL what she wanted me to knit for her she said hotpads. So here they are. I used the Spring Flower and Texutured Squares washcloths from the free patterns on this site, and made 2 of each. I stitched up the side and made an icord loop. She’s already using them. They are made out of Plymouth Fantasy Naturale.

Those are so pretty! Did you double the thickness?
I knitted two in each pattern and whip stitched them together. I don’t know if you can tell on the yellow one, but I ran out of yellow yarn and stitched it together with Navy Rowan Cotton.

Thank you for your praises. She likes them a lot. They use them every day. I wanted to make her something more fancy, but this is what she wanted. The DH went and bought the yarn at the LYS. He picked out his Mom’s favorite colors, and then helped pick out the patterns for them. I always let him pick patterns. I give him a few options and let him decide. I think he’s been to the LYS more than I have.
