Holding the yarn with your pinkie

Thank you all of you who helped me before its so nice to talk to other people who are experts. Lately ive been trying to knit continental but i want to learn english and continental style but i cant hold the yarn with my pinkie when knitting english it comes out uneven can you help me?

I hold the yarn so it wraps around my pinkie, the goes over my ring finger, under my middle finger, and over my pointer. I do this for both english and continental.

But, hold the yarn however it’s comfortable for you. You can wrap your pointer, all your fingers, or not at all. It’s kinda a trial and error thing, but keep trying and you’ll find one that works best for you.

I don’t think there’s any “right” way to hold the yarn. You have to try different ways until you find the one that suits you.
