I seem to be spastic when knitting with knitting needles. If the needles are bamboo or wood, I am fine but can’t seem to graps how I hold the needles and not get my stitching messed up. Is there a secret to holding these things? Margie

you are not alone. i am a newbie knitter and i am having trouble deciding how to hold needles and yarn and keep it up. the larger the needle the more i want to put it in my lap when i loop.

Something you can do is look at many of the knitting videos on Youtube. There you’ll see dozens of different people holding the needles many different ways. Try out a few to see if one of those ways works for you.
I’m relatively new to knitting, but I’ve found circular needles to be a real blessing.
