hmm..I wonder how I can block that!

hey everybody!

I finally finished a scarf(my first project!:cheering:)…and even though it’s acrylic(or 80% acrylic, 20% wool), I wanna try and block it…just to relax the yarn a lil…hoping it’ll look more even…

problem is…its a LoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOng skinny scarf…so how am I supposed to pin it down to dry? it rlly is super long!

any ideas??

thanks eveyrbody! :knitting:

When I’ve blocked scarves, I lay them on the floor (behind closed doors because of the cats.) I straighten them out as much as I can and keep going back to make sure they’re even. I never pinned any, and they turned out fine.

I think it also helps to block them on something that has a straight line you can follow, like checked gingham. I have a big beach towel that has straight lines, so I always pin them to that. With that much acrylic, it will look good until the next time you wash it and will go back to the way it was.

Congratulations on finishing your first project! Hope you’ve posted pictures on the other thread for finished objects!
