I’ve got a REALLY high arch and I was wondering how to make my sock’s arch high so that it fits mine instead of being tight across my heel to the ball of my foot. I assume I have to add stitches but I’m not sure where/how. Thanks much,
Mine is rather high, too. I made the heel flap longer and it worked well.
But what do you do if you do a toe up sock and a short row heel? How do you compensate for the high arch then.
I think that’s why I don’t like short row heels - I have a high arch too.
Oh boy… not sure. I don’t know the proper way to deal with that, but I’d think increasing stitches would work so you have more to go around your foot.
You could Try Arch Shaped stockings http://www.schoolhousepress.com/patterns.htm
scroll down and you will see the elegant pattern. They can be knit in two colors like in the pic or a single color in rib, I’m working on one as I took a class on it at The Sock Summit.
The design curves under the foot and makes it nice and suggly.
