Hi thank you for the add, I've a question about a bit of a pattern I'm knitting I'm a bit confused as I feel it might be the stitches at the end don't add up righ

Hi I’m knitting some basic toddlers mittens and keep getting this bit wrong can anyone advice me why please it doesn’t make sense to me after I’ve knitted to k7 then k2tog there isn’t enough stitches left to complete the rest x

3rd Row: S1, s1, k1, psso, k7, k2tog, k2, s1, k1, psso, k7, k2tog, k1

What is the name of the pattern you’re working?
The 3rd row needs 26sts to start and leaves you with 22sts. There are 4 decreases of one stitch each (2 x k2tog, 2 x skpsso).
How many sts do you have before you start the row?

Hi thank you for getting back to me the pattern is

Easy Two Needle Children’s Mittens

By: Marianna from http://mariannaslazydaisydays.blogspot.co.uk

The Shape Top directions start with 30sts. The first row has a decrease of 4sts to 26sts. The row you quoted is the next RS row:
3rd Row: S1, s1, k1, psso, k7, k2tog, k2, s1, k1, psso, k7, k2tog, k1

Starting with 26sts,
slip one (one stitch)
s1, k1, psso (2 stitches decreased to one stitch)
k7 (7sts)
k2tog (2 stitches decreased to one stitch)
k2 (2sts)
s1, k1, psso (2 stitches decreased to one stitch)
k7 (7sts)
k2tog (2 stitches decreased to one stitch)
k1 (one stitch)

Is it maybe the slip1, k1, pass slipped stitch over that’s causing the problem? Did you start with 30sts, then dec to 26sts before the 3rd row?

Yes I did lol so what should I be doing any help much appreciated I’m sick of unpicking it

How many sts did you have on the needle before you started row 3?
(I can well imagine that you’ve had it with working this row.)

Just in case it helps,
