Herringbone Stitch Question

I am making a skirt for my DD, and it calls for the Herringbone Stitch. The instructions say to:

  1. K2tog, K2 then insert right needle into the back loop of the stitch below

  2. Wind yarn around right-hand needle as you would for a regular knit stitch

  3. Pull yarn through to create a stitch, leaving the above stitch on the left needle

  4. Knit the above stitch from the left-hand needle

Is the video in Abbreviations Explained for k-b correct for the first step of this stitch (I understand everything else)? In the video, it doesn’t look as if Amy’s needle is going through the back loop :??

I’ll cast on tonight and try a swatch, but any help would be appreciated.

Hopefully you’ve figured this out by now, but just in case. . .

The video for the kfb is when the stitch is on the left needle. It looks like this pattern calls for knitting into the stitch below the row on the needle.
