Here is it finally!

I have repeatedly sought help with this pattern from you gals, screamed, cried, pulled my hair out, frogged so many times I feel intimately connected to Kermit by now, but the Beatles sweater is finally finished!!! :cheering: :cheering: We bought him this turtleneck to go with it and the just released “Love” CD from the Cirque Du Soleil show in Vegas. It has like 26 Beatles songs so he can “Revolution” as much as he wants now and be “Yah, Yah, Yah” in style. It isn’t perfect and I did find a couple tiny booboos when sewing on the buttons and patch, but there is no way I am tearing anything else out. It is too small to notice and there is way more love in this sweater than there are mistakes. Merry Christmas, Thomas and Nonny loves you!!!

That is so cute! You did a great job!!

That’s pretty darn adorable – great buttons! :cheering:

How awesome is that!?! What a wonderful gift!

That is really cute! I’ve been wondering what the Beatles sweater was that you had on your OTN list. The patch and buttons are great, where did you ever find them?

I looked everywhere for buttons with Beatles stuff and no luck. I went through pages of Google then saw something for EBAY and this guy in England sells China collectors thimbles and such and had these. They are china as well, and probably for collector’s but they had a shank so I was thrilled to get them. I thought they were perfect for a kids sweater because they are the old 60’s cartoon characters. When I was looking for buttons, I had looked at a Canadian site that sold all kinds of Beatle stuff and remembered seeing a patch that matched the buttons and went back and bought it. For a little kid he is nuts about the Beatles (his parents are fans and he has listened to the music since babyhood) anyway, I thought this would be a great present, but truthfully as many problems as I had I wasn’t sure I would get it done in time.

That is so totally cute! I had a little boy in my preschool class last year that would have loved that sweater!

Of course he won’t notice the tiny mistakes and I bet he’ll treasure this sweater and want to keep wearing it when it’s way too small for him. What a wonderful gift.

You did a great job on the sweater. My friend that loves the Beatles would just LOVE that sweater. Wherever did you find the buttons??

I love it!! I am itching to see that show in LV!!

As a former Beatlemaniac…I think that sweater is just too cool. I absolutely adore it. You’re such a good Nonny. There used to be Beatle cards like baseball cards that you could buy with a stick of bubblegum in it, and I had one whole wall of my bedroom totally covered in these cards. They came along just when I was turning 15 and I was a total nut for those guys. It’s hard to believe the two left are now in their sixties and it’s even sadder that there are only two left. You go, Nonny!

:thud:  so cool!

Love it!

I was a tad younger, around 10, but I collected those cards and had tons of them, whole stacks rubberbanded together. Do you know how rich we would be if we still had them??? Do you remember the cartoon? That’s where the buttons and patch pictures come from. I loved it too! I get to feeling old everytime some celebrity of any kind dies! They seem to be dropping like flies over the last 10 years or so! Glad you like it. I think it turned out pretty cool even if it isn’t perfect.
