Here I go "again" with a beg pattern!

Hi everyone:muah: Here I go with a pattern titled “easy” baby sweater on 2 needles…Handled the collar part (seed st) then the very last row of collar is: PURL IN FR AND BACK OF STITCH…:chair: When will I learn to read a pattern completely before I begin??? Anyway how in the --ll do you purl in the fr and back of the same st…:roflhard:

The same way you knit in front and back of the same stitch… only you purl it.

Okay, purl the st normally, leave it on the needle, then torque your right needle around to insert it into the back leg of the st you just purled, and wrap the yarn around purlwise. It’s very awkward, but doable.

Hi Suzeeq…so I end up with 2 sts??? If so, is there an easier way…:muah: kinda when you k in ft and back as an increase??? Is that what I’m doing…

If you don’t want to purl in the front and back of the stitch, you can do a M1 purlwise–lift the bar between the stitches from back to front and then purl into the front loop of it.

Hi Ingrid:hug: lift the bar with the left needle from the back, then use right needle to purl? Right?..so I can look in the glossary for M1 purlwise? Thank you :muah:

Chely
If you read the whole pattern before you started then I owuld be all alone in the little world of “what the heck is that”. I don’t think I have made something with a pattern yet that I didn’t go huh?? at some point. I figure one day I will be this impressive knitster and I will know it all and not come to that moment that is just the way I am. I just tell myself after project is done see what I just learned!

 :muah: :knitting: awww…I’m better now:grphug:

I found that when your need to purl into the front and the back of a stitch for an increase that it is easier to do if you do the back side first and then the front.

kinda when you k in ft and back as an increase??? Is that what I’m doing…

Yep, only you do it in purl.
