Hem for a hooded sweater

Hood: I have all the sts from sweater put onto circular needle. The next phase of the directions are: Row 1: wrong side: P 6 for front edge and hem, P 1, *K1,P1, repeat from * to last 6 sts, P6. turn. I can’t seem to master the hem. Is there an easier way to do it? Thanks

At this point your only knitting the stitches for the hem differently than the rest of the piece. What is it you’re having problems with?

I can’t seem to master doing the hem. getting all confused as to how to do it

Do you have a link to the pattern?

I suspect that when you’re done with the knitting, you’ll sew those first six stitches down to create the hem.
