Help!

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I’m currently knitting the Surplice Lacy Top #6 in Vogue Knitting Spring/Summer 2010. It’s knitting in the round and I’ve gotten to the point where I divide for fronts which I did. The next reads as follows which is now worked back and forth in rows: “Reattach yarn at new beg of rnd marker, ready to work right front. Row 5 Bind off 3 sts, work to end of row, cast on 24 sts - 57 sts for right front, 60 sts for left front. Note Keep sts in pat as you shape the neck.”

Two questions: After binding off 3 sts, work to end of row is end of row to the first marker? And then cast on 24 sts? I believe this may be it, but I’ve already frogged this so many times that I really prefer not to do that again …:hair:

Thanks for any clarifications! :muah:

I don’t have this magazine to look at your pattern, but based on this:

Row 5 Bind off 3 sts, work to end of row, cast on 24 sts - 57 sts
you should be able to figure out where it would be. You bind off 3 and then work to where adding 24 cast on stitches would bring the total to 57. 57-24=33, so that should be how many you need to knit. It seems like. Does that make any sense? Bind off 3, knit 33 and cast on 24 and you will have 57 stitches to work on for the front. Does that help at all?

I apologize - I probably should have provided the round before that to make it clearer. It reads:
“Work in pat over 36 sts for left front, pm for new beg of round, work 60 sts for right front, pm for side edge, work 96 sts for back, AND old beg of rnd marker now becomes other side edge marker. Cut yarn. The right front will cross over the left front during finishing.
Begin working back and forth in rows
Reattach yarn at new beg of rnd marker, ready to work right front.”

And then it picks up with rnd 5.

I think the way you indicate is correct.

Thanks again for your assistance & have a great day/weekend!

Karen
