Help!

I don’t understand these instructions from the Booga Bag.

  • Pick up and knit twisted 16 stitches along first edge of rectangle. There are 17 ridges, so you just pick up one stitch between each ridge.
  • Pick up and knit 34 stitches along the bottom of your rectangle.
  • Pick up 16 stitches along last edge as you did for the first edge.

What do they mean by pick up? What are twisted stitches? What about ridges?

Check the video under the basic techniques tab (above), clikc on “more” and scroll down to the demo on picking up stitches. It should probably help. Personally, IMHO, I don’t think it matters if you twist the stitches or not because you’ll be felting. Good luck!

The ridges are the purl bumps. I don’t think many people twist the stitches for the Booga, either.

I am still working on the bag and I need to move on to the bottom of the bag now. I do not understand the instructions neither do I know how to go about it. So how do I knit the base of the bag?

:?? The rectangle that you knit in the beginning is the base of the bag. :??
