I can find plenty of subs for a chunky/bulky weight non-animal fiber yarn, but problem is, there’s not a lot of straightforward reviews about them  . I’d love y’all’s opinions on what I could use for my cousin’s Xmas gift scarf:
-chunky/bulky, smooth so has good stitch definition with cables, preferably in a red color, SOFT - meaning a silky “hand”, not a yucky plasticky feeling when you run your hand over it (y’all know what I’m talkin’ about).
This would be a cinch if she wasn’t so dang allergic. I know KH’ers got the answer!
I’m planning on doing Butterfly Morning’s Chunky Braided Scarf for her:
and am planning on getting a lot of it done while traveling the next 3 weeks…
I don’t know if Bernat’s Softee Chunky is anything you’d be interested in. It’s very soft as long as you use larger needles, so for a scarf 11s would work.
I am doing the Irish Hiking Scarf in Berroco Touche (cotton blend) for my allergic sister - it is soft and has good stitch definition. For a bulky you would have to double strand it…
