Help with YOMK1 Stitch

I started knitting about 6 months ago after not doing so for 20 yrs. In my previous life I knit baby items, sweaters, mittens, etc., and would say I reached the intermediate level.

I would like to make a lace & cable hat with Cascade 220 yarn. The pattern is http://www.cascadeyarns.com/patternsFree/220Heather_LaceCableHat.pdf.

In Row 2 of the stitch pattern, one of the stitches abbreviation is “YOMK1” – it is in the last 7 stitches of the row. I have searched several sites to see if I could determine what this abbreviation is, but have had no luck. YO is ‘yarn over’ but just can’t figure this one out.

Any help would be appreciated as I think this hat would be great for my granddaughter! Thank you!

I think there’s a comma missing and it should read “YO, mk1”, though there’s not a definition for Mk1. I think that may be kfb for another inc, because other wise there’s only 6 sts used and it states these are done on the last 7 sts.

REPEAT FROM - ACROSS TO LAST 7 STS, END WITH YO, S1, K1, PSSO, K1, K2TOG, YO, MK1, K1TBL

Thank you for your reply. I thought the same about the missing comma, but just wasn’t sure. Alot changes in 20 years and I thought maybe this was an abbreviation I was unfamiliar with.

Since you suggested the same, I’m going to give your pattern suggestion a try on my swatch and see how it looks.

I’m so glad I found this site!

:woohoo:
