Help with yarn subsitution

I want to knit my first sweater, but I 'm having trouble with what yarn to use.

The pattern calls for 100% pure new wool, bulky wieght
Gauge: 11 sts and 16 rows = 4 inches
using size 15 needles I know that the yarn is going to have to be bulky.

Does anyone have any suggestions about what kind of Lion Brand yarn I would need to use. I want to use Lion Brand because of the price and because it is machine washable.

Lion has both a Wool Ease Chunky (bulky) line and a Woolease Thick and Quick (Super Bulky) line. The Super Bulky is easier to find, and I like it better. Given your gauge, I think the Super Bulky would work for you. Here’s the link http://cache.lionbrand.com//yarns/we-thick.htm. (I made a very nice afghan with this yarn using 15s.
