Help with W top

I¨ve started the W top by knitty ( http://knitty.com/ISSUEspring05/PATTw.html ) and am working on the second wedge. i´m having to CO stitches at the ends of each row, and it seems like when I get back to the end of the row again, the previous stitches along the edge are a bit “loopy” ( I would include a pic, but for some reason, my computer wont take the pix from the camera into anything but Adobe, and I cant figure out how to get it anywhere from there ) ( I guess I¨m having one of those days… )

Will those stitches ease a bit as I work on the top, or does it sound like I need to go back and try them again? I can`t watch the videos about CO as I have dial-up, but for the CO I¨m making a slip knot with the working yarn, and then either looping towards the back or the front ( I¨ve tried both to see if it makes a difference ) and then pulling the slip knot loop over to make the new stitch.

I realize without pix it´s a bit difficult to diagnose the problem, but hopefully I´ve explained it sufficiently.

Any suggestions?

Karen

i didn’t do my co this way, and i never have, i just used the backwards loop for mine, so i can’t help you :frowning: but i know someone will soon!

Hi Melissa - any chance of trying to explain the backward loop? I´ll go now and see if I can watch the video, but it doesn`t come in well with a dial-up modem.

Thanks - you´ve been a lot of help so far!

The knitted cast on makes for looser stitches, have you tried the cable cast on? It’s a lot tighter.

I¨ll try to watch the video tomorrow - unfortunately, it´s late here and I´ve got to go to bed… Gotta frog a bit back still, but I¨m sure it´ll be worth it!

Thanks Lissa and Suzeeq!
