Neck and shoulder shaping

Bind off 4 sts at he beg of next 4 ros 5 sts at the beg of next 2 rows , AT THE SAME TIME bind off center 19 sts adn working both sides at once bind off 4 sts from each neck edge once

My question, I have 38 stitches how many should I go in to start binding off the 19 center stitches

Row 1 should I bind off 5 work a # of sts and start binding off 19 then work a # of sts bind off 5. What would that # of sts be before I bind off the 19? I come up with 9 sts? 38-10-19=9 if that correct then it says to bind off 4 sts from each neck edge once. How do you split 9

Row 1, BO 4 (33 on left needle, 1 on right) work 5 sts, (28 left) BO 19, (9 left) work to end. This works out so that you have 5 sts to work after the BO on row one and 5 sts to work after BO on row two. However, after row two, there are 6 sts on the right and 5 on the left which wouldn’t allow you to complete the rest of the instructions. Is it possible you should’ve started out with more than 38 sts?

Hi, I already bo 4 sts on the 4 rows that left me with 38 sts. I am at the point where is says 5 sts at beg of next 2 rows AT THE SAMES TIME bind off center 19 sts and working both sides at once, bind off 4 sts from each neck edge.

does that make sense

Ah…now that makes more sense.

BO 5, (32 on left, 1 on right) work 4 sts (28 left), BO 19, (9 left) work 9 sts (4 plus the 5 you will bo next row)

BO 5, work 4 break yarn, over to other side, work 4

BO 4, work 4 on other side

BO 4, done?
