# Help with understanding sleeve pattern please

Its probably simple but my head cant figure out this pattern so here it is its an 8 row pattern and says

Keeping continuity of pattern as set inc 1 st at each end of 1st and every following 4th row to 72 sts, working inc sts in irish moss-st.
Inc 1 st at each end of every foll 6th row to 84 sts workinging inc in irish moss st.

So do i inc on rows 1,4 and 6 stopping 1and 4 at 72 sts or inc 1 and 4 to 72 then inc on 6 to 84?

Welcome!
Increase at each end on rows 1,5,9,13,17 etc until you get to 72sts.
I don’t know how many sts you’re starting with but say you get to 72sts on row 13. Then you would change there to increase every 6th row which would be rows 19,25,31,37,42 and 48. That would bring you to 84sts.

I start with 44 andthe patt initially only inc w 2 rows. i count in pattern rows of 8 i.e if its inc at all 3 then id get to 72 on the 4th patt of 8

Ty so your saying its 1 and 4 to 72 then start inc on the 6th only

Call the next row, row 1. Increase on row 1 and then rows 5,9,13,17,21,25,29 etc to 72sts. After the first row, it’s every 4 rows, not every 1 and 4.

Yes, that’s the way it reads.

Kl ty for your help had the body knitted ages ago n just so unsure about the arms lol thankyou again x

Well enjoy finishing it up. It sounds like a lovely pattern. Post a photo when you finish, if you’d like. We love to see projects.
