Help with the crotch in pants

I am currently working on a pair of pants for my son. I will be approaching the crotch shortly and wonder how to do this – I am knitting in the round.

The person who was originally helped me come up with this pattern to customize for my sons size said she does a 3 step bind off or a kitchener stitch when she gets to the crotch before she starts the legs.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

BUMP :happydance:

The last video on this page shows kitchener stitch. REALLY easy.

What does “crotch in trousers” or “crotch in pants” mean? I shop a lot for myself and my husband online but still don’t understand what you are saying. BTW, I do shopping online through discount coupons like Entireworld coupons.

Welcome!
It’s the join between the two legs of the pants covering your bottom.

Oh, I see. Thank you!

I have not made any pants so far, but if I would, I would probably do a bit differently. While there is nothing wrong with using Kitchener’s stitch for this, I would probably use a bit of waste yarn and a crochet chain as a provisional cast on to achieve the same result. Additionally i would do a few short rows to shape the area.
