Help with sleeves?

Hi there,

I have jacket that I am going to sew which is with a felted fabric and I wanted to knit sleeves for it. Does anyone have experience of attaching knitted pieces to other fabric?

Do I have to reinforce the yarn at the top of the sleeve when i attach it to the jacket? What is the best way to attach the sleeve to the jacket?

Thank you for any tips or help you can give me.

This site has some advice, see especially page 3. I like the idea of making “stitches” with heavy thread in the material and then knitting the sleeves from the top down.
