I am knitting a toddler sweater and have come to the sleeves and need help understanding what rows I should be knitting.
Sleeves
Cast on 29 stitches
Row 1 (WS) Sl1, p1,k1) to end
Row 2 (RS) sl1, (k1,p1) to last but one stitch then knit that stitch.
Repeat these two rows once more, then row 1 again increasing one stitch (m1) in the middle.
Row 1 (RS) sl1, k8, p2, k8, p2, k9
Row 2 sl1, p8, k2, p8, k2, p8, k1
Repeat these two rows once.
Next Row sl1, k1, m1, k7, p2, c8b, p2, k7, m1, k2
Next Row sl1, p9, k2, p8, k2, p9, k1
Continue to increase two stitches every fourth row until there are 52 sts., at the same time c8b on the centre 8 sts every sixth row.
My question is after I knit those 11 rows which row do I go back to to start the count for my every 4th row and then every 6th row?
Still not sure what I’m supposed to do here.
If I do row 1 and row 2 twice wouldn’t the second time I did the row 2 be the 4th row? Then the cable row be row 5?
Also the cable twist and the m1 is in the same row. How can I do the increase and the cable twist on separate rows?
I am totally confused as to what rows and in what order I am supossed to be knitting to get to my 52 stitches
OK so if I got this straight , the next row after the increase and cable row is really only row 2 repeated after the first increase and first cable. There is actually only row 1 and 2 and the increase row. On every 6th row I do the c8b and leave out the m1?

After you knit the 11rows, knit 3 rows more without the m1 and on the 4th row, do the m1 increase each end of the row. Increase one stitch in from the ends on row 8, row 12, row 16 etc until there are 52sts.
It may help to keep track of the increase rows and the cable cross rows with a row counter or a pencil and paper. The increase rows and the cable rows repeat independently of each other.
