I’m working on Twinkle’s Big City Knits Shopping Tunic and I’m at the point in the pattern that requires short-rows. I’ve done them before and think I understand them, but this pattern has me baffled because it sounds like it is wrong but it could just be me. This pattern is worked in the round from the bottom up. Here’s the instructions:
All sizes: 40 (44, 48, 52 sts), Work even 2 rnds. Place marker at center front.
Okay, I’ve done that. Next it says:
SHORT-ROW NECK SHAPING
Knit to 3 sts before Center Front marker, wrap and turn, purl to 3 sts before center front marker, wrap and turn, knit to 6 sts before center front marker, wrap and turn, purl to 6 sts before center front marker, wrap and turn.
The thing that doesn’t sound right to me is that it says to knit to 3 (6) sts before Center Front marker, shouldn’t it be knit to 3 (6) sts after Center marker? Because if I knit to 3 (6) sts before Center Front marker and wrap and turn and then purl to 3 (6) sts before center front marker, wouldn’t I be purling practically all the way around the row almost? Or have I totally misunderstood what it means to turn?
Hopefully that makes sense.
Thanks in advance for any insights and help!
