Help with short row heel

Is there any help for me on this short row heel!:nails:

I am doing Silver’s toe up sock tutorial and I am stuck on the heel. I have tried and tried and it is not working for me. I have read and reread and it is like :wall: .
Are there any other way to do the heel or am I going to go through life never doing a short row heel. I am not going to give up but any help would be great.

Thanks

When I do a short row heel I like to use markers…I place a marker after each wraped st so I can keep my place…also when you go pack to knit the wraped sts make sure you pull them tight this helps a bit with the holes…I’m still not perfect on a short row heel…I have to watch my purl side or it will get holes…also try moving the sts around when you go to knit the wrap st…see if you can come up with a way that helps you close that hole up…I like to take them off the needle pwise and then slip them back on and do a K2tog tbl

My favorite short row heel though is the Sherman shortrow…you only have to wrap 2sts…I find it easier to do once you get it down…

I will give the Sherman heel a try on my testing sock. This way if I make a mistake it won’t matter that the yarn gets a little frayed.:roflhard:
I will let ya know if I can do that heel.

I still can’t seem to get the short rows right. The thing that’s strange is that when I first started kntting, I followed the knittinghelp video and had no problems. But for some reason now I have holes. I have tried at least 4 different sets of instructions (including the ones offered above) and still end up with holes. There must be a way to not have holes! Pulling those stitches extra tight does help some, but not enough. I’m knitting diaper covers but I assume the short rows should be the same.

I am still miffed on the short row heel, well at least I got the toe right this time. That is why I want to get to learn the short row heel. I did find this one and I have given it a whorl on a trial heel. Not to bad and she says that there are no holes. So here it is

A little long but hope the address works.
