Does anyone know if there is a way to replicate this edge look (i did two knit stitches then a yarn over increase) I would like the top to look the same as the edge if that’s something that can be done. I am new to knitting but am willing to try anything to get the look I’m going for
You might try a swatch on some scrap yarn to see what works. Maybe a (yarn over, k2tog) across the row then two rows of knit sts? It won’t be a perfect mimic but close.
Another way to work it is to as an applied border across the live sts of the last row.

Your border will be simpler than the one in the tutorial, maybe just k2, yo, k2tog, k1 (where this last k1 is worked together with a live stitch from the shawl) but you can try it out on a swatch until you get the look that you want.
