# Help with shaping of neck and armhole front of a sweater

Can some one tell me if I understand this right. I have FROG this sweater so many time. :grrr: :wall: :verysad: :verysad:

My question??do I do the k2tog, k3 Because that part will be at the neck edge. :wall:

Here is the pattern.
Dec 1 st from each neck edge on next row, then every 6th row 4 (5, 5, 5) times more. AT THE SAME TIME, shape armholes as for back. Work even on 12(13, 15, 17) sts each side until armhole measures same as back to shoulder, end with a WS row. Bind off each side.

Shape armholes
Bind off 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows.
Dec row (RS): K3, ssk, k to last 5 sts, k2tog, k3. Rep dec row every other row 1 (1, 2, 2) times more–48 (52, 56, 60) sts. Work even until armhole measures 7 (7 1/2, 8, 8 1/2)", end with a WS row.

Yes, the k2 tog, k3 will be at the neck edge.

I know it is at the neck edge but do I do because I am already doing something else there.

Dec 1 st from each neck edge on next row, then every 6th row 4 (5, 5, 5) times more

This part of the pattern tells you WHAT you are doing and how often.

The K2tog, k3 is telling you HOW to accomplish the decrease.

They are both the same decrease–just too much information.

:blooby: :cheering:

I get it now… That makes so much more since now. Thanks you so much. Maybe I will finily get this sweater done…
