Help with separating for sleeves

Hi … I am knitting a pattern called Margret sweater. I am working on the 2nd size. The pattern reads as follows:

Slip 10 - 10 - 12 - 13 - 12 - 13 - 14 sts from each side
on a stitch-holder or waste yarn.
70 - 74 - 76 - 81 - 86 - 93 - 98 sts in each side.
Set aside and knit the sleeves.

Does it want me to take 10 stitches before OR 10 stitches after the marker. OR does it mean I take 5 before AND 5 after each marker? Does my question make sense?

Thank you.

Welcome to the forum!
Usually it’s 5sts before the side marker and 5sts after the side marker depending on the design.
Is it this pattern? Can you tell us the name of the designer?

Yes, it is this pattern and I truly appreciate your help. I emailed the designer several times and never heard from her. I just not super confident in my knitting skills.

Your suggestion of 5sts before and 5 after works perfectly well. Since this is bottom-up you’ve knit a tube where, the placement of the armholes isn’t critical. The only consideration might be centering the design at the hem although that is far from the focal point of the yoke.
It will become more important to center the yoke designe between the armholes or the side markers. You might check further along in the pattern and see how the chart is set up for centering the design.

Thank you so very much!!! I really appreciate this!
