I am new and have a handle on the basic stitches, but now I am trying to rib and I have no problem doing my first row, but when I turn around and start the next row I get confused. Do I do the opposite, so example if I ended with a pearl when I turn around then do I knit or pearl? Help!!:knitting:

If you ended with a purl then when you turn and start the next row, you’ll knit. I’m helping my daughter with the same thing right now.
Emily Elizabeth is quite advanced, isn’t she? :teehee:
To rib you knit the “knit” stitches and “purl” the purl stitches as they face you. This means the needle with the stitches is in your left hand and you are ready to knit/purl. Learn what the stitches look like and it’ll help you a lot with patterns. Here is a sample of what the stitches look like.
