Sorry I’m back again, on the sleeves waheca pattern, it’s m1r and m1l how do I work the 48 row chart with the increases. 12 stitches on chart. Started off with 36 St’s and will be increasing 2 St’s every 5th row.
The chart will have repeats of the sleeve motif. You can work the new sts into a new repeat which will grow wider with each increase. The new repeats at beginning and end of row will seem to grow out of the seam or beginning of round marker.
Alternatively, you can just work the increases in the background color.
Wish these books would give clear instructions I still think the old paper patterns are a lot easier, showing my age. Am thinking working all this out going slow me down I could leave the little 7 row border and do the rest in main colour but would need more wool and then the problem of different dye lot.
Will have a break and have a think thanks for your help.
Ah have I got it right when you say new repeats grow out of the seam say it was dog motif I would just have part of the dog and the more I increased end up with a bigger piece. Sorry that sounds gobbledegook.
No, that sounds right. Sweaters are often worked this way. Given enough increases you have a repeat each side of the center marker.
Thanks, you’re great, I wish you would write a book with all this info it would be a best seller and I would be first in queue 2 buy.
Oh, count me in too!
Am again attempting post photos not happy with wonky pattern have looked at the other sweaters I’ve knitted none are so obvious on start of round.
I really want to do the pattern on sleeve but am worried it will look awful so out of line.
You can see the offending out of line pattern in pics any idea where I’m going wrong, my tension gone a bit off as well with so many rows pattern.
Please excuse hay and my cat miss Steel hair embellishing sweater and if you spot any mistakes please let me know I’m knitting blind with black I cannot see the stitches even neck torch and magnifying glass don’t help.
Miss Steel mistakes the sweater motif for cats and is admiring them.
In some cases you can pull up the beg of round stitch by knitting it with the next round (the black background stitch in the lower part of the photo). Further up in the rounds, have you tried Patty Lyons work around for color work?

The knitting looks very nice and the colors are perfect. Love the blue eyes.
Original colour was golden not burnt orange so had to do eyes blue otherwise would of looked demonic with orange eyes. Not confident with method for altering 1st stitch of round have very poor attention span and would revert back to my old ways will try pinning and stretching when finished mind you gentle I am not.
In general, this jog is more annoying to knitters than it is to others. Pulling up the stitch below is more straightforward than Patty L’s trick and it does help.
I know what you mean about taking time out to go follow a video or hunt up that book with the alternative method. Then get down to working it!
