Hello, I am working on this wine cozy pattern that I did years ago and now I am stuck.
These are the beginning instructions for the cozy
CO 42 sts.
Row 1 [RS]: [K3, p3] to end.
This row forms 3x3 rib.
Work in 3x3 rib until work measures 1.5 inches from beg, ending with a RS row.
Next row [WS]: K2, [YO, p2tog tbl, p2, YO, k2tog] to last 4 sts, YO, p2tog tbl, p2.
Cont in 3x3 rib until work measures 3 inches from beg.
Work in St st until work measures 8 inches, ending with a RS row.
My problem is, 42 is dividable by 3 so the 3x3 ribbing works, but once I get past the
K2, [YO, p2tog tbl, p2, YO, k2tog] to last 4 sts, YO, p2tog tbl, p2.
I end up with 29 stitches left. Is that right? I lose a stitch every time I purl/knit 2tog. So how can I continue with the 3x3 ribbing if my numbers aren’t dividable by 3?
Am I doing something wrong?
