Help with Pattern

So…I’m not sure what my sweater pattern is telling me to do. I’ve knitted the front and started to shape the neck and the shoulder sections.
It reads: K 26, join 2nd skein of yarn; BO center 7 sts; k to end of row. Both shoulder sections are worked at the same time with separate skeins.
What I’m confused about is what to do with that 2nd skein. Do I join it in like I would a new ball, and just ignore it? When do I use it? Help please-I’m sure this is a simple pattern…but I’m a new knitter. Thanks!!

You will leave the original skein as is (do not cut it) after the first K26, then you will join the second skein and with that one you will BO7 and then finish the row. From now on, one side of the neck will be worked with the original skein and the other side will be worked with the new skein.

Thanks for helping-one more question (sorry!). How do I join it in? Just like I would for a new ball but without cutting? Sorry-I’m a slow learner.

Just start the bind-off with it. That will secure it quite well, and you can weave in the tail later.
