please help me!! I am still new and I can’t figure out how to do this. I ooked things up in the glossary but I am still lost.
[FONT=Verdana]Cast on 22 and work outer 2 sts in garter st (always knit) for the entire scarf. Work the first 4 rows in garter stitch (you can see this in the lower photo just above.)
Begin with color A and knit in st st for 6-8 rows, knit one row of Rev St st (purl instead of knit for one row), then return to St st. Knit 4-5 more rows in St st in Color A and then change to Color B. Work in St st for a few rows, toss in a Rev St st row now and then (looking at the photo you can see the little lines of Rev St st across the scarf randomly). Keep changing back and forth from Col A to Col B every 8-10" until you are almost out of yarn. Knit the last 4 rows of the Scarf in Garter St. [/FONT]
Here’s some help:
Once you cast on, you’ll want to knit completely the first 4 rows. Then, you’ll knit the first and last two stitches of every row, no matter what. Then, with one color, you’ll knit in stocking stitch (also called stockinette- in your pattern it’s st). This is knit on the right side and purl on the wrong side…remember to keep knitting the first and last two stitches. Then it tells you to work in Rev st, which is reverse stocking stitch. For this, you’ll knit on the sides you were purling on and purl on the side you were knitting on. It’s the same thing, just backwards. Then, you’ll switch between your color A and color B (col A and col B). For the last four rows, you’ll work only in knit stitch, and then you’ll bind off. Hope this helps!
