Help with pattern

This is the first pattern I’m trying so I’m having problems understanding what something means. This is the pattern I’m trying…

What does “St st and Rev St st” mean?

St st = stockinette stitch (knit a row, purl a row)
Rev St st = the back or bumpy side of stockinette stitch (same method just the other side.)

You can always look up things in the KH glossary and there are many videos linked to it, too.

So do

knit
purl
purl
knit
knit
purl
purl
knit
knit

Like that?

That means ( and I don’t like it when they do this)!!!

Stockinette Stitch (st st)
and
Reverse Stockinette Stitch

if you need further definition, let us know.

Yeah I guess I don’t know what reverse stockinette stitch is

You would knit the first 5 rows
Make sure that you knit the first 8 stitches of each row AND the last 8 stitches.
then you would
row 1 knit
row 2 purl
repeat these rows until you have 10 rows complete
row 3 purl
row 4 purl
repeat these rows until you have 10 rows complete
complete each of these sets until you have the blankie the length you want
then finish with your 5 rows of straight knitting (knit every row).

so it would be knit first 5 rows then
knit
purl
knit
purl
knit
purl
knit
purl
knit
purl
purlx10?

then repeat until desired length and finish with 5 rows of knit.

Okay NM I’ve figured it out I just had to study the pattern a little more closely. St st is knit, purl and Rev st is purl knit I must have been having a blonde moment hehe (and i can say that because i’m blonde) next question I have is i didn’t like the yarn used in the pattern so i got…

Do you think this will be okay? I was thinking maybe it’s too thin because of the size 11 needles the pattern calls for.
