I am hoping someone can help me decipher a specific section of a pattern I’m about to start for a shawl. It has a few double eyelet rows and then you start the chart. It wants me to work edge sts every row as established in row 8 of double eyelet rows while working the chart. The chart has 27 sts in each row and when I start at the chart I have 115 sts on my needles. Here’s the part where I am confused:
“Cont working edge sts every row as established in row 8 of double eyelet rows, AT SAME TIME, work in chart as foll:
Note Only RS rows shown in chart. K every WS row.
Row 1 work 44 sts, beg with row 1, work 27 sts of chart, k to end. Cont in pat as established, working 90 rows of chart and working every WS row as k - 25 sts when chart is complete. Work even, cont to work edge sts until 14 sts rem.”
The double eyelet row 8 it references is:
Row 8 K1, k2tog, yo, k1, k2tog, yo, k2tog, k to end.
Soooo . . . when it says “work edge as established in row 8 of double eyelet” does that mean at the beg of each row I k1, k2tog, yo, k1, k2tog, yo, k2tog and then knit until I hit 44 sts and then work the 27 sts of the chart? It then says k to end after chart sts, but do I knit and then work the last 7 sts as *k1, k2tog, yo, k1, k2tog, yo, k2tog? It seems I start each row with those first 7 sts in Row 8 of the double eyelet, k to the chart, follow chart, then knit to last 7 sts and again work first 7 sts of row 8.
Am I reading that right?? Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!
