Help with pattern s2kpo technique

Help!

I know I’m making this harder than it has to be. I’m trying to try a new pattern. It has a technique to s2kpo. When I try to Google this it shows slipping both stitches together simultaneously (Knit wise), but the pattern looks like it says slip one at a time (purl wise). Then you knit the following stitch.

Then the next row is a purl row, and I’m also confused how this works. And do you purl the stitch following, because that’s what the stitch guide says. Or do you purl because it’s on the purl side?

Ordinarily I’d say go with the pattern definition but in this case, no. Slip the 2sts together knitwise, k1 then pass the 2 slipped sts over. It gives you a neater centered double decrease. You can compare the two on a small swatch if you like.
The convention is to slip sts knitwise in a decrease.

Yes! I actually reached out to the pattern designer on ravelry and she said oops it needed to be updated. Now I worked the first row now issues. I’m on the second row which is a purl row, and confused again. Since it’s a a purl row, do I before slipping the stitches knitwise have to move the yarn to the front so that it is in ready position to knit the following stitch? Then immediately move the yarn to the back and continue purling after the decrease? I’m so confused now. Sometimes I make things harder than they have to be until I get it the first time. I have started this pattern over about 4 times now.

The second round is a purl round so the yarn is already in the front (the side facing you) so that you can purl. According to the pattern, move the yarn between the needles to the back, slip 2, k1, psso then move the yarn to the front again to continue purling.

Oh yes. I should proof read. I meant move the yarn to the back before slipping stitches. Just like you said. Thank you so much!!! You have been helpful on more than one occasion!

Well I don’t know what I’m doing or not doing… I’m only a couple rows in, but I don’t have that fancy little decrease stitch in the middle… I have a bump lol ugh!! Uploading: 20201108_200220.jpg… Uploading: 20201108_200202.jpg…

Try this on a small sample swatch. That’ll spare your good yarn from being pulled out multiple times.

See if maybe this video is any help.

Hey! So I actually kept going for a few rows. I think I’m on the right path. Now I’m to the part of the pattern I was to knit 26 stitches, wrap and turn, then purl 3. Well I’m using magic loop and was able to purl two before I had to turn my needles. I went to turn like normal and now the working yarn is on the front needle? I’m perplexed what to do at this point. I need to purl one stitch still, then I was to repeat the k26, w&t, p3 until a certain point. Magic loop throws me for a loop sometimes. Any ideas?

I like this video for magic loop. See about 4:40min for flipping the needles so that the yarn is coming off the back needle.
