Help with pattern, please!

Probably something easy that I’m not really understanding… but here it goes.

I’m at the part of the pattern where the directions are:

“place center 8 sts (of 68 total stitches) on holder, while at the same time continuing to work the armhole decreases as for back. Work next WS row even”

what?

so… do i just put the stitches on a holder and skip those 8 stitches and move over (and leave a gaping hole in the front of the sweater?.. or does it mean to cut the yarn, and start over on the other side…

the pattern I’m using is: http://www.knotions.com/patterns/magknits/durrow/directions.aspx

All that i have left is the front of the work, weaving in the ends and sewing the pieces together (all before the 25th of march).
:woohoo:

Perhaps anyone has used this pattern before or know something like it where it uses the directions i’m having trouble with?

many thanks,

tiffany

well, she doesn’t aactually say to do this, but it seems you’d want to add a 2nd ball of yarn at the other side of these center stitches and do each side separately.

Yes, you don’t cut the yarn, you add another end so you can work both sides of the shoulder, making the neck and shoulder decreases.

sweet- thanks very much! I’ve sewn the sleeves together and now am just waiting till i finish the front to sew those edges together… I’ll post pics as soon as I’m finished :-):happydance:
