Help with pattern for baby jacket sleeve

Can anyone help me?
My pattern says the following:
(I have 29 stitches on my needle)
Continue in garter st, inc at each end of 5th row and foll 6th row 3 times in all… 35 sts
Change needles
Cont in garter st, inc at each end of foll 6th rows until there are 41 sts.

What does this actually mean? I am a bit confused as to how I need to count the rows?

I read it as increase in rows 5, 11 and 17

After you change the needles, increase in rows 6, 12, and 18.
