Help with pattern directions

I’m making a baby jester had with three “prongs” with straight needles so I’m making a front and back piece. I never put knits on holders so right now i have the needle, and two holders and I’m stuck. I did purl across the center but then I didn’t understand if I continued on the center with the K1, ssk, knit to last 3 sts until I got to the end point but what about the two sides for the remaining hat points. Am I knitting each one of the jester points separately or simultaneously? How?

[B]Next row:[/B] Knit 10 (11, 12) sts, place on holder. Knit next 9 (11, 11) sts, turn.
Place rem 10 (11, 12) sts on holder.
Purl across center 9 (11, 11) sts.
[B]Next row:[/B] K1, ssk, knit to last 3 sts; k2tog, k1.
[B]Next row:[/B] Purl.
Continue to rep these two rows until 3 sts rem, k3tog, cut yarn and pull through loop to finish.

Make back the same way.

It sounds like you’d repeat those steps for each of the other points of the hat. However, double check the directions for finishing and see if there’s something special that you do with the edge points after the back is complete.

That’s all the directions say was what I listed. If I do each point that way, how do I start each point when the working yarn is at the tip, pulled through and cut?

Slip the stitches to a needle from the holder and just start knitting with the new strand. You’ll weave in the end later.
